Although the register entry records that the bride's father was deceased, he
was very much alive, and survived for over 30 more years. This was possibly
a clerical error, and it was the groom's father who was deceased, or maybe Florence
(who was actually only 19) did not have parental permission to marry —
which was required by under-21s until the 1969 Family Reform Act.
