[716] Source: Baptism register (on microfilm at the Essex Record Office). The register margin includes this note "altered from Eliza to Mary Ann by me C. M. [C Marriott] curate". Mary Ann SACH was baptised on the same day as sister Sarah SAICH. As well as initially recording Mary Ann as 'Eliza', he gave the two sisters different surnames. This may have been to indicate that they were not twins, but was more likely just another error by the curate!
[11769] Notes: Gertrude Rhoda PRACEY is reputed to have migrated to Australia after World War One, and to have married John William SMITH there, before returning to England with her husband. If she did migrate down under, it was presumably after the birth of her illegitimate daughter, Theresa Anita, in 1923. John William & Gertrude Rhoda SMITH are believed to have had one child in Australia, and and four more back in England.
