discovered and transcribed by Natalie Witt.

Source: Baptism register, online at Ancestry.co.uk. Parents were
James (a shopkeeper) & Sarah MILLS, of 129 Drury Lane.
For reasons unknown, Emily appears to have been baptised again at St Giles in
the Fields on 9 May 1841, her parents being recorded as James (an optician) and
Sarah MILLS (both of whom were by then dead), of 26 Great Wild Street.
This was Emily's sister Hannah's address at the 1841 census, 4 weeks later.
This apparent second baptism seems quite bizarre, because Emily had been married
to Edward BRYAN for a year. Equally curiously, the online IGI includes
yet another baptism at Holy Trinity, Kingsway (in St Andrew's parish, not St
Giles), also on 9 May 1841, which records Emily's birth date as 23 Feb 1823.
Neither of the baptism entries at St Giles include Emily's birth date.
All very weird.
