Notes: Probably the daughter of William & Ann PRESTON, baptised 25 Jun
1769 at Therfield (International Genealogical Index, online at familysearch.org).
Due to husband William's death in 1820, Elizabeth is presumed to be the "Wid.
Haggar" with 5 children in the 1821 Therfield census (at www.therfield.net).
No death or burial for Elizabeth has been found at Therfield. She may have
married again, but if so, it was not at Therfield. By 1841, her four surviving
children were all in London. Mary and John were at Hornsey, James was at
Edmonton, and Barnard/Barnet was a soldier at the Tower of London. The
fact that they are so spread out hardly suggests that they moved to London as
a family. They more likely drifted to London one by one, and Elizabeth may
have accompanied one of them, or joined them later. Whatever happened,
Elizabeth probably died in London.
