Notes: Hannah and her husband John SMITHIES are mentioned in her brother
William WITT's autobiographical "An
Account of His Life".
Hannah is named as one of the beneficiaries of her father William WITT's will, where she is identified as the wife of John SMITHERS

[535] Source: Baptism register (On microfilm at the Public Record Office, Kew, Ref: RG4/4376). Hannah Witt, and her sister Elizabeth (baptised at New Broad Street, 4 Jan 1810), were both christened again, at the same time as their younger sister Alice, on 14 Apr 1811 at St Botolph's, Bishopsgate (Source: Baptism register, on microfilm at the Guildhall Library, London). Both Hannah's and Elizabeth's birth dates are the same in both baptism registers, so there is no doubt that they were christened twice. Presumably, their parents converted from 'dissenters' to Church of England, sometime during 1810 or 1811?
