Notes: Clara Rosina HAGGER is a bit of a mystery. No record of her
birth has been found. She was living with her PEPPER grandparents in 1861,
but then 'vanished' until her death in 1926, 65 years later. No sign of
her in any census from 1871-1901. Perhaps she was abroad...?
Due to the fact that Clara Rosina was apparently born 2-3 years before her mother's
marriage to William Sanders HAGGER (and in her mother's home parish of Steeple
Morden), it seems likely that she was the illegitimate offspring of Sarah PEPPER.
There is a possible candidate in the GRO births index:- 1856 September, Clara
Steel Rosina PEPPER, Royston, 3a 190.
