[9236] Notes: Named as a beneficiary in her uncle Edward PRASCEY's will, proved in 1780. Frances was also a beneficiary of her husband Jonathan SILLS' will, proved in 1800.

Source: Burial register (image online at www.ancestry.co.uk). Rather
oddly, Frances SILLS is recorded in the register as Elizabeth SILLS. This
must be a clerical error, because she was undoubtedly the widow, aged 70, of
Jonathan SILLS, and was buried with him, "in the Vault in the North Side Isle
(sic) of the Church". The burial register is that of St Peter's, Paul's
Wharf, but the vault must have been in St Benet's, because St Peter's was destroyed
in the Great Fire. The church was not rebuilt, and the parish was united
with St Benet's.
On 8 Jan 1802, just over two weeks after she was buried, Frances SILLS' will
was proved in London, but no copy of the will has survived. All that remains
is an extract, which states that her estate was valued at 2000 pounds, and that
the administrators were her sons, Edward Pracey SILLS and Joseph SILLS.
Only two beneficiaries are named, her granddaughters, Frances Mary SILLS and
Frances Ann RAMSAY, who got 20 pounds each. The residue of her estate was,
'undisposed of'.
